Dear reader,
Dear visitor,

Welcome to this very first digital edition of our ArcelorMittal Belgium's Corporate Responsibility Report.

An important asset of our company lies in our ability to innovate continuously. Not only are we constantly stretching the boundaries of steel making, but we are also unceasingly developing new functionalities for our by-products and are constantly improving our way of working as a team.

Innovation does in fact go far beyond merely expanding our process or product innovation. On an environmental level, as well, we are working hard to reduce our ecological footprint in order to evolve towards a climate-neutral and energy-efficient company.

As you can see, digitalisation is an essential part of our business reality. And in order to become the smart steel plant of the future, we are relying on the following strengths: our highly qualified employees, our high-tech installations and our highly automated processes. We also work closely together with the academic world, with other industries and with various research centres within ArcelorMittal to further develop our innovation capacity.

Our corporate culture is centred around four values: openness, respect, subsidiarity and collaboration. At the heart of our company are our motivated colleagues who, through a strong team spirit, give the best of themselves on a daily basis... The health and safety of all those who work at our company remains our top priority. Our safety action plan "Raise the Bar" aims to bring our safety results to a new level. This involves continuously improving the quality of our safety rules through training, monitoring and technology, and developing the discipline to adhere to the safety rules for the full 100%.

The year 2018 was shaped in particular by the announcement that several lines were to be sold in Liège at the request of the European Commission, as a condition for ArcelorMittal's acquisition of the Italian steel company Ilva. From a human point of view, such a divestment is a particularly difficult challenge and test. I would like to thank all my fellow colleagues for their professional and admirable approach in dealing with this exceptional situation. In the coming months, we will undoubtedly be able to once again give a new impetus to our ArcelorMittal Belgium' strategy to become benchmark in terms of safety, service, quality, operational reliability and productivity.

It is clear that ArcelorMittal Belgium is determined to make a difference at all levels. We invite you to discover our '10 outcomes' that are the central thread running through this Corporate Responsibility Report.

The entire ArcelorMittal Belgium team and I wish you a pleasant (digital) discovery of this report!
